Douglas Sylvester

Dean Douglas Sylvester is Special Advisor to the Provost at Arizona State University and former 8th Dean of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law. Under his leadership, ASU Law rose dramatically in rankings from 58th to 25th nationally, becoming the youngest law school in the top 25. He was instrumental in creating the Beus Center for Law and Society in downtown Phoenix. Sylvester founded the Technology Ventures Clinic and has expertise in intellectual property law, emerging technologies, and commercialization. He previously served as a National Academy of Sciences consultant on U.S. Census reform and worked at Baker & McKenzie.
