Bob Smith

Bob Smith brings distinguished aerospace leadership to The Difference Engine's Advisory Board, joining in September 2024. As former CEO of Blue Origin (2018-2023), Smith transformed the company from a research organization into a multi-billion-dollar commercial space enterprise. He holds a PhD in aerospace engineering from University of Texas, an MBA from MIT's Sloan School, and previously served 13 years at Honeywell Aerospace as Chief Technology Officer and president of a $4B business. Smith is a Fellow of both the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Royal Aeronautical Society, currently advising innovative technology companies on scaling breakthrough innovations.
