Phil Harty

As the Vice President of Business Development with Sodexo, Phil is responsible for leading the growth of Sodexo Campus food and facilities management in the western United States. His team is a catalyst in the campus lifestyle evolution and helps elevate the student experience by building community, culture, innovation, and engagement. He brings 30 years of hospitality experience to his role, including 7 recent years as the Senior Vice President for campuses across the Northeast.

Phil's career has been devoted to community impact with an emphasis on building systems and strategies to grow and revitalize local food economies. His leadership on the Vermont First and Maine Course commitments helped develop state-wide local sourcing standards through innovative partnerships with agriculture, businesses, non-profits, and supply chain management. These programs are now a model across the country, showcasing collaborative and innovative approaches for applying large corporate resources to small community needs. Phil also prioritizes the growth of his people through commitments to innovative, hands-on team training such as the regional Culinary Achievement Forum which fostered growth through creativity and mentorship among hourly cooks from urban environments. He continues to support Sodexo employees as an executive sponsor of SOAR (Sodexo Organization for disAbility Resources).
