PepsiCo Ranked as a Trailblazer on the Women’s Power and Influence Index

Today, the Difference Engine is thrilled to announce the newest ranking on the Women’s Power and Influence Index. PepsiCo has officially earned the ranking “TRAILBLAZER” for gender equity in the workplace. To give this ranking, our researchers analyzed PepsiCo’s public reports and EEO data from PepsiCo. As a “TRAILBLAZER,” PepsiCo earned almost a complete score on the Women’s Power and Influence Index, meaning that it had transparent policies on pay equity, recruitment, childcare, and mentorship for women.

Here are some key highlights from our research:

- Pay Equity: PepsiCo has an annual review process for its employees’ pay and has achieved 99% pay equity as of 2020.

- Women’s Recruitment: PepsiCo has a clear commitment to recruiting women within its company, and it has partnered with outside organizations to enforce this.

- Childcare Benefits: PepsiCo has an established childcare policy in place, with on-site childcare at some of its facilities, childcare reimbursement options, and childcare provided by third parties.

- Harassment Policy: PepsiCo has a clearly defined harassment policy in place for its employees.

Although PepsiCo scored well on many of our criteria, it could provide more transparency on employee training for harassment and discrimination. In addition, while its policies are admirable, PepsiCo has low EEO numbers for its female workforce and female leadership in 2020 data.
