Exciting news, folks! The Difference Engine has just released the latest ranking on The Women's Power and Influence Index. We recently shared the exciting internal event and overall ranking for Paypal, and now it's time to reveal where CVS, a health solutions company, stands on the Index.

As a woman who values equity and fair treatment in the workplace or a company that is looking to expand your diversity related initiatives, you may be interested to know that our team has completed an extensive months-long research project to create the Women's Power Index. We collected data from various sources, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and publicly available information related to CVS, to analyze the status of women in the workplace.

So, where does CVS rank on the Index? Well, they are categorized as a "Trailblazer," meaning they have policies and procedures that focus on developing a progressive and inclusive workplace for all people, including women. CVS's efforts in this regard have resulted in high marks on nearly all of the Index's measurement metrics.

We have pulled some of the important policies offered at CVS’s that account for their high position on the Index:

  • Based on the most recent EEO data, 37.2% of their executives are women and 69.9% of their workforce is female.
  • CVS offers a professional development program and newsletter, WISE (Women Inspiring Success and Excellence), that focuses on women’s wellness by providing gender inclusive resources and webinars.
  • CVS offer’s specific programs targeting pay gap equality, recruitment, and they are actively engaging the community in gender inequality issues.

We do want to note that we could not find any information regarding CVS’s mentorship programs, caregiver paid time off (PTO), or health benefits. This does not mean they do not offer these programs, but if they do this information is inaccessible to the broader public and any potential employees.

The WPI not only sheds light on the current state of women in corporate structures but also aims to encourage organizations to adopt more equitable practices. We believe that transparency is crucial in driving change, which is why we have made the WPI data publicly accessible for anyone to access, including employees, candidates, investors, shareholders, journalists, and civil society advocates. By providing this information, we hope to empower women to make informed decisions about their careers and support companies that value and prioritize gender equity.
